Judgment

O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the 1st and 2nd respondents granting electricity service connection in favour of the 3rd respondent in respect of the property comprised in Old Survey No.260/14B, New Survey No.N260-14, Sithannavasal Village, Illupur Taluk, Pudukottai District, without first verifying the petitioner's original title documents and affording her an opportunity of being heard by considering the petitioner's representation dated on 05.07.2026.

¶2Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

¶3By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Since no adverse order is going to be passed, notice to the third respondent is dispensed with.

¶4The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had made a representation dated 05.07.2026 to the respondents requesting them not to grant an electricity service connection to the third respondent in respect of the petition-mentioned property. However, as no action has been taken on the said representation till date, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

¶5The learned counsel further submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

¶6Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents 1 and 2, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as the third respondent. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
