CRL MP(MD) Nos.14187 and 14188 of 2026 BEFORE THE MADURAI BENCH OF MADRAS HIGH COURT DATED: 16-07-2026 CORAM THE HONOURABLE MR.JUSTICE K.RAJASEKAR CRL MP(MD) Nos.14187 and 14188 of 2026 IN CRL OP(MD) NO. 12240 OF 2026 R.V.Ashok Kumar Petitioner(s) Vs The State of Tamil Nadu Rep. By, The Inspector of Police, Karur Town Police Station, Karur District. Crime No.377/2023 Respondent(s) For Petitioner(s): Mr.N.R.Elango Senior Counsel for Mr.T.Sugadev For Respondent(s): Mr.D.Venkatesh Counsel for State of TN (Crl. Side) Prayer in Crl.M.P.(MD).No.14187 of 2026: To grant extension of time of the operation of the anticipatory bail order in Crl.OP(MD)No.12240 of 2026 dated 25.06.2026 on the file of this Court. Prayer in CRL MP(MD).No.14188 of 2026 : To modify the condition by directing the petitioner to report before the D-1, Triplicane Police Station, Chennai, instead of reporting before the Karur Town Police Station every Saturday at 10.00 AM in Crl.OP(MD)No.12240 of 2026 dated 25.06.2026. COMMON ORDER These Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions have been filed by the petitioner seeking to modify the condition imposed by this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD).No.12240 of 2026 dated 25.06.2026 that "the petitioner shall report before the respondent police, on every Saturday at 10.00 a.m., for a period of four weeks" and also for further extension of time for compliance of the conditions.

¶2The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has been granted anticipatory bail in another case in Crime No.205 of 2026 in Crl.O.P.No.17241 of 2026, by order dated 08.07.2026, with a condition to report before the respondent therein, i.e., the Inspector of Police, D-1 Police Station, Triplicane, Chennai, daily twice at 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m, until further orders. Hence, he could not comply with the condition in the present case in Crime No.377 of 2023, to report before the respondent Police, i.e., the Inspector of Police, Karur Town Police Station, Karur District, on every Saturday at 10.00 a.m., for a period of four weeks. Therefore, the learned counsel seeks to modify the said condition.

¶3Considering the said submission and the fact that the petitioner was directed to appear before the Inspector of Police, D-1 Police Station, Triplicane, Chennai in another case daily twice, the condition imposed by this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD).No.12240 of 2026 dated 25.06.2026, is modified to the effect that the petitioner is directed to appear before the Inspector of Police, D-1 Police Station, Triplicane, Chennai, daily at 10.30 a.m., for a period of two weeks and thereafter, as and when required for interrogation. Consequently, two weeks' time is extended to the petitioner to comply with the conditions imposed on the petitioner in Crl.O.P.(MD).No.12240 of 2026 dated 25.06.2026, from the date on which, the order copy is made ready.

¶4Accordingly, these Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions are ordered. 16-07-2026 Lm To
