Judgment

O R D E R Mr.C.Jeganathan, learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu, takes notice for the respondents.

¶2With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

¶3Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents.

¶4The petitioner herein, while working as a Special Sub Inspector of Police under the control of the third respondent, is stated to have made a claim for stepping of his pay on par with his juniors and accordingly, the same was considered by the third respondent and a proposal is stated to have been submitted by the third respondent to the first respondent vide proceedings bearing Na.Ka.No.D3/245/2271/2025, dated 10.11.2025. Thereafter, the petitioner has retired from service on 31.05.2026 on attaining the age of superannuation. In spite of the same, the first respondent appears to have not taken any steps on the proposal dated 10.11.2025 submitted by the third respondent proposing for stepping up of pay of the petitioner on par with his juniors. As the first respondent has not taken any steps since November, 2025, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition complaining inaction on the part of the first respondent on the proposal submitted by the third respondent.

¶5Mr.C.Jeganathan, learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submits that the first respondent would take a decision on the proposal submitted by the third respondent as expeditiously as possible.

¶6In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to take a decision on the proposal submitted by the third respondent vide proceedings bearing Na.Ka.No.D3/245/2271/2025, dated 10.11.2025, proposing for stepping up the pay of the petitioner on par with his juniors, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner.
