Judgment
ORDER The petitioner, a retired Medical Officer, aggrieved by the pay anomaly in comparison with her junior, submitted a representation to the concerned Authorities. Since the said representation was not considered, she approached this Court by filing W.P.(MD)No.195 of 2026. This Court, by order dated 28.01.2026, disposed of the said Writ Petition, directing the third respondent therein to furnish the details as required by the second respondent therein within a period of four weeks and thereafter, directing the second respondent therein to take a decision on the petitioner's representation within a period of twelve weeks.
¶2Now, the petitioner has filed this Contempt Petition alleging that the order of the Writ Court has not been complied with.
¶3When this Contempt Petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent/contemnor, by referring to the proceedings in Ref.No.6150/E1/1/2023, dated 08.04.2026, addressed by the respondent/contemnor to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, submits that the particulars have been collected and forwarded. Further, a proposal has been made to the Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, in Ref.No.6150/E1/1/2023, dated 29.05.2026, pressing the grievance of the petitioner relating to the pay anomaly. According to him, the Government has to take a decision and, since the proposal was made on
29.05.2026 itself, the same would be considered by the Government and necessary orders would be passed within a period of two weeks.
¶4Heard both sides.
¶5Since the grievance of the petitioner has been addressed by the respondent/contemnor and a proposal has already been made to the Government, this Contempt Petition is closed with a direction to the Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department - the first respondent in the Writ Petition, to ensure that the proposal is addressed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
