Judgment
O R D E R This Writ Petition is filed seeking for quashment of the proceedings of the respondents Police dated 03.09.2023 rejecting the request of the petitioner to conduct Annadhanam, Drama and Kalai Nigalchi, which are scheduled to be held on 16.09.2023 and 17.09.2023, in connection with Urchava Festival in Arulmigu Sri Panaimarathu Nagammal Temple situated at Kurumalaipatti, Puthanatham Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District.
¶2When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the people in the said village have decided to conduct Annadhanam, Drama and Kalai Nigalchi, jointly and that there are no rival groups in the said village.
¶3The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondents Police submits that on 17.09.2023, the Police will be busy in bandobust for Vinayagar Chathurthi festival and so far as 16.09.2023 is concerned, the Police have no objection in case if a fresh application is filed and the petitioner's request is confined only to play Drama.
¶4Considering the submissions made by both sides, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to approach the respondents Police and file a fresh application for conducting Drama and other programme on 16.09.2023, without any Adal Padal Programme and on filing of such application, the respondents Police are directed to give permission by imposing usual conditions. There shall be no order as to costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
