Haribalakrishnan v. The Inspector of Police

ORDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking modification of the conditional order, imposed on the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- to the District Mediation Centre, Virudhunagar District, vide order dated 14.08.2023 made in Cr.M.P.No.4154 of 2023 on the file of the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Virudhunagar District.

¶2Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent.

¶3Earlier the petitioner has moved the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Virudhunagar District, Srivilliputhur, seeking modification of the order in Cr.M.P.No.4589 of 2023 and the petition came to be dismissed vide order dated

05.09.2023.

¶4The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) would submit that the total worth of the contraband invoved in this case is Rs.5,000/-.

¶5Considering the submissions of the learned Government advocate and considering facts and circumstances of this case, the condition imposed by the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Virudhunagar District, vide order dated 14.08.2023 made in Cr.M.P.No.4154 of 2023, is modified to the effect that the petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) to the credit to the District Mediation Centre, Virudhunagar District.

¶6Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
