Judgment
O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2026 and consequently restrain the respondents 1 and 2 from issuing any new electricity service connection in favor of the third respondent for the property situated at Survey Nos.120/4 and 120/5, Thiruppuvanam Pudur Village, Sivagangai District.
¶2Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
¶3By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Since no adverse order is going to be passed, notice to the third respondent is dispensed with.
¶4The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 21.07.2026 requesting the respondents 1 and 2 not to grant a new electricity service connection in favour of the third respondent in respect of the property comprised in Survey Nos.120/4 and 120/5, Thiruppuvanam Pudur Village, Sivagangai District. It is further submitted that, despite receipt of the said representation, the respondents have not passed any orders thereon. Apprehending that the respondents may proceed to issue a new electricity service connection in favour of the third respondent without considering the petitioner's objections, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of the present Writ Petition.
¶5The learned counsel further submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
¶6Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the third respondent. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
