ORDER This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to follow up on the communication made by the second respondent dated 20.10.2021 and to correct the extent of the property as 78 ½ cents instead of 71.4 cents as recorded in the Town Survey Land Register

(TSLR).

¶2Heard Mr.N.Mohan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Ragavendran, learned Government Advocate for the official respondents.

¶3The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property measuring an extent of 78 ½ cents in S.No.411/3 was purchased by the petitioner through a registered sale deed dated 17.11.2006 through a registered document No.4648 of 2006. Patta was also issued in the name of the petitioner by showing the extent as 78 ½ cents. Due to subsequent partition deed that was entered into on

22.05.2000, among family members of one Rengasamy, there was some confusion in the total extent and as a result, the town survey number was allotted as 20/2 for old S.No.411/3 and whereas the measurement was recorded as 71.63 cents.

¶4The petitioner made a representation in this regard to the second respondent and the second respondent had also issued a communication to the third respondent to take action on the representation. Since the same was not acted upon, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

¶5The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the official respondents produced the written instructions received from the third respondent. ¶6It is clear from the above that the third respondent is already in the process of conducting enquiry and correcting the extent and some time is required to complete this process. In view of the same, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to conduct enquiry by issuing notice to all the interested parties and complete the process of correction in the relevant records within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

¶7This writ petition is disposed with the above directions. No costs.
