ORDER The petitioner, claiming to be the President of Soodiyur Panchayat, has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to shift the electric poles by way of straightening the points in S.F.No.528/18 in Soodiyur Group, Paramakudi Taluk,

¶2The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the electric poles, which have been fixed in the street of Arulandapuram Village, were causing disturbance to the general public. Therefore, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent Board and also paid the amount to an extent of Rs.22,000/- for shifting the poles in the road margin and to straighten the line. However, no action was taken by the respondent. Hence, this writ petition has been filed.

¶3The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Board submits that the petitioner is the then President of Soodiyur Panchayat and he is not the present President of the Panchayat. After the payment, none of the persons approached the respondent Board. Therefore, the respondent Board have not taken any action.

¶4Considering the fact that the petitioner has already paid the required amount for shifting the electric poles and the same has already received by the respondent Board, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to take appropriate action for shifting the poles, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
