Judgment

ORDER The petitioner is working as a Technical Assistant in the respondents Transport Corporation. He has arranged marriage for his son, which is scheduled to be conducted on 13.09.2026. Therefore, he has submitted a representation dated 01.08.2026 to the respondents Corporation seeking permission to withdraw Rs.10,00,000/- from his Provident Fund account for his son's marriage expenditure. However, the same has not been considered. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a writ of mandamus to the respondents to permit him to withdraw the eligible amount from PF accumulation available to the credit of his PF Account No.12584, within a stipulated time.

¶2Mr.D.Jebaraj, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the respondents and submits that the eligible amount is only Rs.5,75,000/- and, due to financial constraints, the said amount has not been settled. He further submits that the said amount would be settled within a period of four weeks.

¶3The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 01.08.2026 to the respondents corporation seeking to withdraw Rs.10,00,000/- from his Provident Fund account for his son's marriage expenditure. The petitioner is entitled for the same and it cannot be denied on the ground of financial constraints to the respondents corporation. The petitioner seeks the said amount for meeting out the expenditure of his son's marriage. Therefore, it needs to be provided to the petitioner without any further delay.

¶4Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed with a direction to the respondents Corporation to pay the eligible amount from his PF account, within a period of ten days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
