Judgment

O R D E R Heard both sides.

¶2The petitioner is a 68 years old woman. Her son is working in Dubai. She is the holder of Indian passport. She wants renewal. The petitioner's application was not favourably considered because of the receipt of adverse police report. Challenging the same, the present writ petition came to be filed.

¶3When the matter was taken up for hearing, I waned to know from the learned Government Advocate that if the petitioner is actually residing in the address mentioned.

¶4The learned Government Advocate confirms on instructions that the petitioner is very much residing at the addressed mentioned in the application. Therefore, the very basis of the adverse police report goes.

¶5The petitioner's name is mentioned as Bowsul Jesima in her earlier passport. Therefore, the question of calling upon her to submit any name change certificate does not arise at all. The first respondent shall renew the petitioner's passport subject to fulfilment of the other usual 3 W.P.(MD)NO.29557 OF 2023 formalities, if any. This shall be done as expeditiously as possible. This writ petition stands allowed. No costs.
