Judgment

ORDER The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 10.09.2025.

¶2The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the application was made under Section 52 of the Waqf Act, 1995. According to the petitioner, the properties comprised in Survey No.136/1, Chattrapatti Village, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, and other properties mentioned in the application are Waqf properties. It is further contended that the private respondents are in illegal occupation of the said properties and are unlawfully dealing with the same. ¶3The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that the petitioner's application would be taken up for enquiry and that the entire exercise could be completed within a period of three months.

¶4Though notice has been served on the private respondents 2 to 11, they have chosen not to enter appearance or contest the writ petition.

¶5Having regard to the submissions made on either side, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

(i) The petitioner's application dated 10.09.2025 shall be taken up for enquiry by the first respondent.

(ii) The first respondent shall issue notice to all interested persons, conduct a due enquiry in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.
