Heard Mr. P. Roy Barman, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. K. Nath, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. S. Lodh, learned counsel appearing for respondents no.1 to 4 i.e. Tripura University, Mr. B.N. Majumder, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. K. Deb, learned counsel appearing for respondents no.5, 8 and 9 and Mr. Soumyadeep Saha, learned counsel appearing for respondent no.6.

Today, when the matter has come up before this Court, Mr. S. Lodh, learned counsel appearing for the respondents-Tripura University has placed a notification dated 29.11.2024 whereby and whereunder it is decided by a constituted Committee that the petitioner, an Assistant Professor of the University is eligible for counting his past service as per UGC Regulations, 2010.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondents-Tripura University has submitted that this notification deciding the eligibility of the petitioner for counting his past service as per UGC Regulations, 2010 has been issued with the approval of the competent authority of Tripura University. As such, in my opinion, there should not be any doubt that the past service of the petitioner would be counted as per UGC Regulations, 2010.

In view of this notification dated 29.11.2024, since the relief has been granted to the petitioner, the instant writ petition stands infructous and thus disposed of.

A copy of this notification is kept on record.
